Apart from a blown-up LNA, most equipment and antennas proved reliable and working reasonable well. The result after the first stint was disapointing, but luckily propagation improved late Saturday night. However the W/VE signals were still very weak and no west coast was detectable. The JA window yielded 7 stations. Many thanks to Philippe LX2A for the great support. 73s Ron DL3BPC

The setup is not yet ready and I realy missed a second big monobander for a second direction. This will hopefully be changed next year and the existing antennes on 10M 15M and 20M will be the antennas for the second direction and some new stacks will be used for NA, our best direction from this QTH. Stay tuned!!! It is clear that my main antenna was pointing 90% of the time into NA :) I look forward to my new setup with better antennas for NA and JA!!! | EU | NA | SA | AF | AS | OC | ------------------------------------------------------- | 28.9% | 62.3% | 1.4% | 0.8% | 5.7% | 0.9% | ------------------------------------------------------- Some more automation will also help to improve the OP to fully profit from this setup. After not being able to take part in the CQWWSSB this year due to an accident,
my main goal was to have the new setup ready for this contest.
We worked very hard on the setup and only 7 minutes before we were ready.
Our new Antenna-Switching system was never tested before but worked great and
gave us the possibility to change between up to 3 antennas on each band on each
of the 3 operating positions. Already before the contest we noticed that the 40M and
80M Beams were too close and could not realy use them. This will be solved next year.During the contest one of our K3s had some problems and we had also a power failure.
The team realy did a nice job and we made our best result in this M/2 category.
I am still surprised by the result and the high number of countries on each band.
This year we were not able to put up all antennas. For next year some more antennawork
is planned to be able to fully use the 4el 40M and also the 2el on 80M.thanks for all the QSOs, cu in the next contests

This was a great contest and thank you very much for all the QSOs.
Propagation was not so great and it was difficult to work NA on 15M. I was not
so lucky as southern european stations. 10M was completely dead.
20M was realy great and everything played well. The 5el on 31m works great.
As my 2el for 40M will be replaced by a 4el OB4-40 this year I hope to have a
better signal and to have a low SWR on the whole band.
On 80M my 4-Square has some problems and will also be replaced by a new 2el
beam.
As the vertical on 160M had not survived the heavy winds, I was only using an
dipol antenna.
This year we will make a lot of changes to the antennasystem and a lot of work
is ahead. 7 new beams, 1 new tower, a complete new antenna switching system to
make all antennas available to 4 operating positions.
We will hopefully be back with the new setup at the end of the year. But there
is still a lot of work to do,
Hopefully we will be able to improve our signal also on low bands

This was a great contest and we are still surprised by our result. This was our
first try in the M/M category in the CQWW.
As the setup is designed for M/S , we were very surprised how well everything
worked.
A lot of pre-work and a completely new beverage system, which was built the day
before the contest, helped a lot on low bands.
The team with only 8 operators did a great job as most of them had never worked
from LX7I.
Thanks for all who called us, Log will be available in a few days on LOTW and
on our webpage.
I have now a lot of new ideas how to improve the setup. A completely new
automatic antenna switching system is planned for next year.
Also new yagis for 10M-80M will be put up next year. It is a big project and I
hope that everything will be ready for the next CQWW contests 2010,

Thank you for all the QSOs.
As not all antennas were ready for a AB entry, I decided to work SB 20M.
I found it not so interesting and surely will be SOAB again next year.
My XM520 realy performed very well.
Some more QSOs would have been possible but I put more time in searching for
multipliers and decided to make some breaks.

This year we started with a completely new team, as some operators were not able to join us.
I was very happy that Andy YO3JR and Tibi YO9GZU joined the team.
It was the first time we worked together with this combination of OPs, 7 OPs
from 4 different countries. This was realy a nice experience and I enjoyed it very much.
Up to the end it was not 100% clear in which category we will start as the station is desinged for M/S or SO2R and not for M/2. But we chose the M/2 category to have more fun.
We had an interesting competition with LX8M who started in the M/M category with a very good portable setup. We also noticed that we were not so an rare LX-multiplier as the years before. (LX8M claimed 7067QSOs and 7242000 Points)
We all had a lot of fun, and had only some minor problems, but we also saw that there is a lot of space for improvements and I have already started in planning to improve the setup.

What a contest!!!!
I was preparing this contest for one year and spend hours and hours on puting
up new antennas, coax cables, beverages and ......
Everything was just ready in time (3 hours before the contest). That is why I
did not get any sleep before the contest.
My goal at the beginning was to increase my score from last year, but
everything worked even better than expected.
I tryed to make as much 3-point QSOs as possible even if the rate was somtimes
going down (52% QSOs outside of EU).
I missed some multipliers on the low bands and I need to improve my antennas.
On 160M I heard many DX-stations I could not reach.( I have alredy some Ideas
on how to improve my signal for low bands, .!!!)
Still now I am very suprised about my score but I know that I even could do it
better.
I want to thank everybody who called in, especially all the multipliers.
Also congratulation to my friends from WWYC CU2X, OH8X and NN3W for their great
score.
This was a real nice experience even if the last 3 hours were very hard as I
was very tyred after 60 hours without sleep and signals.
